Understanding your event
Understanding is one of the most important ingredients when mixing up a promotional design for your event. The visuals need to look great, but they also need to communicate the vibe of your event immediately so the right audience takes notice. Before any design work stars, The Design Apothecary will talk through the event with you to understand who the event is for, what's taking place at the event and any other significant elements that will help to inform a creative and totally unique design.

Design options & revisions
The Design Apothecary understand's you aren't a graphic designer. You know you want an awesome event poster and for the social media assets to match, but you're not sure what that should look like. That's okay. Once we've talked through the event, you'll receive three bespoke design options to choose from. There's still chance to make revisions, but having options to choose from gives you a chance to really see what you like (or don't like), so we can get to the perfect final artwork.
When you've selected a design, you'll have the option to suggest any changes you'd like. For example, a colour change, merging elements from different designs together, using different imagery etc. After this, The Design Apothecary offers one more round of minor revisions to ensure you're fully happy with the design you receive.
GRAPHIC DESIGN FOR BRADFORD QUEER COLLECTIVE'S
Proud & pissed off
For their first event, focussed on 'queer art, performance and protest', Bradford Queer Collective wanted to ensure their promotional visuals were immediately recognisable to the queer community, cohesive with the theme of the event, and celebrated the group's Bradford roots.
The Design Apothecary took inspiration from historic LGBTQIA+ posters, such as the Lesbians & Gays Support The Miners poster for their Pits and Perverts event. Other elements were influenced by protest signage, the progress pride flag and the centre of Bradford, where the event was held.
The graphic design was used across printed promotional flyers, a social media campaign to provide event information and introduce performers, as well as printed materials at the event to signpost activities and provide historical information. It was vital to ensure there were enough consistent design elements to allow the visuals to feel consistent and relevant without being overly repetitive.

Social media assets
Every event will have different social media requirements, but The Design Apothecary knows the importance of keeping a consistent design across all your posts so potential attendees will immediately recognise the event. Whether you need banners for the event page, a design for your 'Meet our performers' posts, attractive ways to put out logistical information, or something else, lets make sure the graphic design stays on theme.
Event signage
Continuing the design of your event promotion onto the signage visible at the event is a great way to keep everything feeling streamlined, and professional. It also makes everything super recognisable and saves attendees any awkward 'have I come to the right place?' moments. Welcome signs, ticket signs, information signs...the list of possibilities is endless. Let The Design Apothecary help you make your event signage look as great as designs that drew people in from the start.
